FORREST (Mainholm Nursery/Ayr) – Obituary
Peacefully at the Ayrshire Hospice on Sunday 23rd May 2021 Allan Forrest (Frosty). Who will be sorely missed by his loving wife Mary, children Fiona and Colin, Father in law of William and Stacey and grandsons, Murray and Calvin. Allan was a man who lived life to the full enjoying his hobbies of curling and rallying making many lifetime friends who describe him as one in a million. Allan will be greatly missed by his both his family and many friends. He was proud to be a fifth generation market gardener and enjoyed growing his vegetables and flowers. Many a person has been on the receiving end of Allan’s quick wit and had to hold their own in his company. He loved good food at nice restaurants and holidays in Lanzarote and Majorca with Mary. Don’t forget the glass or two of wine and whisky which fuelled many a night of laughter and fun. Allan could turn his hand to anything and in addition to market gardening over his lifetime dabbled in many jobs from chimney sweeping to lorry driving and building rally cars for others to enjoy. The hospice was a huge support to Allan and the family through such a difficult time and the care they showed to all the family was exemplary. We cannot thank the team enough for everything they did for Allan. We hope you will share your thanks to the hospice team by making a small donation to help continue delivering the fantastic services that they offer.
